WASHINGTON, D.C. — This month the Open World Leadership Center, an agency of the U.S. Congress, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) (formerly the Broadcasting Board of Governors) to collaborate on a no-cost partnership for building worldwide media capacity. The project will design programming and media events aimed at strengthening journalism in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.

The partnership officially kicks off today as a group of 24 Russian media professionals will take part in an afternoon of professional capacity building at USAGM.

Sixty (60) Open World media and journalism delegates will attend sessions at the USAGM in 2018. More cooperation is planned for 2019.
